What's An Impulse?
An "impulse" is a vector of change, a quantity of progress. In physics, it is represented as the integral of force over time. As students, we are that force. As innovators, that time is now.
Impulse Houston is a community organization that hopes to captivate young minds and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM through our suite of engaging events and activities.
Houston, we have a problem.

Houston is a hub for brainiacs and nerds.
Our beautiful city is built entirely around this constantly evolving nucleus for medical innovation and advancement— and economically, we sure do capitalize on this.
But what about socially? What about academically?
Although we live in a city that has its heart set on changing the world, there are plenty of young students out there still looking to make it, racing to keep up with Houston’s ambition.
The vast expanses of the universe terrify us young folk; how can we choose a passion, path, and profession when there’s just so many darn options?
How can we choose what to love and what to learn?
Our Mission
The mission of Impulse Houston is to provide an impulse to Houston's youth, pushing forward a passion for STEM through activities such as:
